"Always a wonderful experience"

We have been going to the Hobbit each summer for about 10 years. I think it is the best restaurant in Ocean City, MD. View is great, atmosphere and interior design is relaxing and elegant, service is right on, and cuisine is excellent. I particularly enjoy the Veal Pistachio.

"Appropriately, The Hobbit is a magical experience"

No matter where you sit, you pretty much get a view of the serene waters outside (obviously, bonus points if you book your res for sunset).

Jon, who was formerly a busboy for several summers, is starting his first summer as a server, and we had the pleasure of being the first of his guests. He is adorably boyish with a Justin Bieber baby face (but cuter!), charming, and out to prove that he has that hobbit swag.

Our table started with the clams casino: middleneck clams, garlic butter, bacon, and provolone. I mean…what part of that doesn't sound awesome? We even convinced someone at our table who was emphatically against clams to try one, and she loved it.

Since it was a special occasion for all of us, we went all out. For my entrée, Ihad the filet topped with crab imperial. Absolutely succulent. It was cooked medium rare, as i asked, and topped with a generous amount of crab that perfectly complemented the juicy steak.

Other entrées at the table were the grilled new york strip, the blackened pasta with chicken, and the veal pistachio. All four of us were positively happy with our plates and, after trying the other three, with good reason. It was clear that each plate was carefully crafted and paid attention to.

Speaking of being paid attention to…back to Jon and how he won me over for that fifth star. I asked if the bar had olives stuffed with bleu cheese for my martini. Sadly, they did not. Upon seeing my frown, Jon quickly exclaimed, "but we *do* have goat cheese and I'd be more than happy to stuff olives for you!!" Within minutes, i had three olives stuffed with goat cheese on a small plate, hand-stuffed by Jon.
Talk about customer service.

Even though we were all too full, Jon wooed us with dessert options and went with his suggestion - Mary's Delight: a lightly baked crust of crushed walnuts topped with a layer of sweetened cream cheese, a layer of chocolate pudding, then finished with a layer of heavy whipped cream and chocolate shavings. I do believe that's about as decadent as it can get, and you better believe the four of us devoured it.

For a special occasion or if you're just looking to have flawless service and a delicious meal, this hobbit hole is worth visiting.

"Fresh mint out of the garden!"

I have been to the Hobbit twice now, once just for drinks and then for dinner just last weekend. I love this restaurant. Starting off with the "melt in your mouth" rolls that are made in house to the large array of appetizers and entrees, everything we ordered was out of this world. We even saw the bartender outside picking fresh mint for our mojitos from our bay front window seat. To top it off we had one of the best desserts I have had to date, Mary's Delight. I cannot begin to describe how delicious it was, but please take my word for it. I am a huge foodie, and this was top notch.

"The Perfect Date Night"

I recently visited Ocean City this past Labor Day weekend and my husband and I wanted to get away and enjoy a special dinner for our anniversary. I was so pleased we ended up going to The Hobbit it was the PERFECT setting. Gorgeous atmosphere, it didn't even feel like we were in Ocean City anymore.

The service and food were up to par with the luxurious restaurant. I had the cream of crab soup as a starter and my husband couldn't stop raving about his lollipop lamb chop appetizer. He loved it so much he wanted to get another order. Our dinners were also fantastic. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, also very helpful with menu choices. We took all of her recommendations and couldn't have been more pleased.

The restaurant was very busy being a holiday weekend, but our wait wasn't overly long. I would definitely recommend making reservations if you expect to get a table. It is a fine dining experience no one should miss.

"All around excellent experience"

I have been to Hobbit at least twice a month this summer and have yet to be disappointed. The food is excellent - especially compared to the all the other restaurants in OC. I have yet to find anything close to this! The new chef has presented a delicious new menu. The atmosphere is great - the views of the bay are gorgeous! Not a bad seat in the place. The bar scene is fun - exactly where I wanted to have my nice glass of wine after dinner. The price is nothing out of the ordinary - it is worth spending the money on a good meal, in my opinion. The Hobbit is definitely a great change of pace and a wonderful experience in wonderful Ocean City! I definitely recommend it!

"Fantastic Service, Superb Food!"

Do not miss this restaurant! Quite possibly the best meal I've ever had, from the appetizer to dessert. Hobbit Chicken, Stuffed Shrimp and Roast Tenderloin- all perfect. The hostess was pleasant, and our waitress, Carly was fantastic. The views of the bay at sunset were out of this world!
